About LAC

The London Apprenticeship Company (LAC) was the first Apprenticeship Training Agency to arrive in the United Kingdom in 2009 and we are passionate about Apprenticeships!

The LAC engages with thousands of Londoners looking for an alternative to work without training and/or formal education, helping many school and college leavers on their way to a career with prospects.

A crucial part of LAC’s ability to provide Apprenticeships is the strong relationships with businesses we have built as a result of our simple and practical hosting model, which essentially frees employers from all the burdens associated with recruitment, HR and training!

We want to make a difference to people’s lives and strongly believe that London Apprenticeships will make a real and long lasting contribution not only to individuals, but to the quality of our UK workforce.

How will we make it happen?

The LAC approach has made employing apprentices a commercially viable and sensible option for businesses of all sizes. Our specialist expertise and unique combination of services enable us to deliver a range of apprenticeships, serving the needs of both the employer and the apprentice. For a short summary of the financial benefits of employing an Apprentice see our Employer section.

It is our aim to be the leading provider of apprenticeships in the UK. To achieve this ambitious goal we are combining our passion for change with the following key services:

Apprentice Recruitment

Because LAC directly employs the Apprentice on behalf of the ‘host’ company we remove all of the usual HR hassles. We offer a complete payroll service in which PAYE, National Insurance, Sick Pay, Holiday Pay and on-going HR are all included. For a simple breakdown of the savings an employer can make when employing an Apprentice see the LAC Cost Benefit Analysis.

Jobs Searching and Skills Matching
Our experienced team work directly with the apprentice and employer to ensure a good match. We use bespoke Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software, helping us to identify the most appropriate Apprentices for a given vacancy.

Identification and Management of training

We identify and manage the best and most appropriate training and assessment programme for each and every apprentice.

Liaison Service

Throughout the programme we offer a liaison service between the apprentice, training organisation and ‘host’ employer to ensure all needs and expectations are being met.

Advice, Information and Guidance

Every new apprentice is given initial and diagnostic skills testing leading to individualised learning programmes.

Mentoring Service

All apprentices are allocated a LAC mentor who coaches and supports them throughout their placement.

The Safety Net

If things are not working out, our unique safety net gives both the employer and apprentice a simple and painless ‘return and replace’ option.

A Wider Choice

Once we have pre-selected and skills tested the most suitable candidates, LAC then gives employers a selection of candidates to choose from.
Candidates also have more choice with an Apprenticeship. If an Apprentice has not decided their career path, they get a unique opportunity to work for more than one company within a sector, this offers wider exposure to training and work experiences.
