What training does an employer give an apprentice? |
|
Apprentices don’t study in the conventional way; the training element is integrated into their day to day roles and responsibilities, NVQs are based on evidence collecting situations, observations from assessors and discussions that prove the learners competency.
In general an apprentice needs to be employed for a minimum of 16 hours per week with a guideline of 1 hour a week ‘off-duty’ to ensure they complete their necessary NVQ requirements. They may also have workshops away from your premises or online assignments to complete at a computer during work hours. Over one year it is estimated you need to allow 12 days ‘off duty’. |
