Apprentice Recruitment 

Costs 
There are no set rates of pay. It is very flexible. The London Apprenticeship Company will discuss Apprentice rates of pay with you to the level of pay that you think is appropriate. There are a number of variables to consider: what you want to pay and what you can afford to pay; payscales within your organisation; minimum wage legislation and how this applies to Apprentices; staff retention and incentivising the Apprentice. Our Business Development Executives work with you to develop a range of options and provide a detailed employment cost quote that will specify:
- The overall total cost to you expressed as hourly, weekly or annual that would be invoiced to you weekly or fortnightly. A breakdown of the make-up of that total, including
- NI contributions
- VAT payable
- London Apprenticeship Company service fees

Flexibility 
- Our Apprenticeship scheme is very flexible. Within the general scope of services that we offer we remain flexible to host employer requirements. Our Business Development Executive team will work with you to define the most appropriate scheme in the context of your employment requirements.
Flexibilities that the London Apprenticeship Company can offer include: - The ability for you to return an Apprentice to us if you are not happy with their performance
- A tailored training programme designed to take account of your work flow peaks and troughs
- The ability for Apprentices to work from more than one location and in some case for more than one employer if you do not need a full time person all of the time
The focus of our service is how to best make an Apprenticeship work for you. 
Health and Safety 
- To ensure that all London Apprentices are working in a safe environment we will conduct a user-friendly health and safety work place review with every employer taking on an Apprentice. This assessment will both enable us to fulfil our safety obligations to the Apprentice and training provider and to you in terms of a useful crosscheck of your own policies and procedures for workplace safety.
- Health and Safety at work is a shared responsibility. We will ask to view your H&S risks register, but if you are a small employer who needs help with this then please give us a call.

HR Management 
- One of the key benefits of working with the London Apprenticeship Company is that we handle all the HR side and make it easy for you. This means we manage the Apprentice PAYE, NI and pays ENI contributions. We also manage holiday pay, sick pay and maternity entitlements, and we will bill you weekly, fortnightly or monthly with a simple invoice that you pay by direct debit.
- The Apprentice is directly employed by the London Apprenticeship Company and their contract of employment is held with us. You ‘host’ their employment.
- The process is very simple and straightforward, designed to make employing an Apprentice quick and easy for you. You authorise your Apprentices pay by submitting an online timesheet for them and this in turn triggers our payroll systems.

Support and Supervision 
All London Apprentices will have an ongoing supervision plan to ensure their success. We employ a team of dedicated Apprentice Co-ordinators, each of whom manage a case load of named individual Apprentices. The Co-ordinator liaises between you, the host employer, the training provider and the Apprentice to make sure that the whole package works effectively. Our support package includes:
- Regular and tailored visits by the Apprentice Co-ordinator
- Monitoring training programmes through monthly attendance and progress reports
- Working with you to resolve any issues or conflicts that may be having a negative effect on your Apprentices performance and addressing the underlying causes
- Logging progress into our bespoke IT systems so that we can accurately follow developments
- The management of our Co-ordinators by the Head of Apprenticeships who ensures that the supervision process is well targeted and effective

Training 
The London Apprenticeship Company will: - Enrol your Apprentice onto a recognised Apprenticeship training programme
- Structure their training so that it has low impact on your Apprentices ability to be ‘on-the-job’
- Guide the Apprentice through the requirements of the training so that they fully achieve their NVQ, BTEC / City and Guilds and key skills qualifications.
